THEN I SAW HIS FAECES. NOW I'M A BE-LIVER. JUST KIDNEYING. BWAHAHAHA!!

What happens to your body when it dies? This highly informative and educational picture book by Rev. C Raven Bartholomew answers the question in a way only the Reverend can, with a deft yet wonderfully humorous touch. It stars the late, great Shane the Sheepy who was killed by a farmer's gun and who has since risen from the dead to sit at the right hand of the self-proclaimed "demented Dr Seuss".

CREEPY CREEPY GRAVEYARD SHEEPY eBook Rev C Raven Bartholomew

Going by the title, I was expecting a creepy, scary story, not a zombiefied story. It’s an easy rhyme with a good flow that keeps moving, making it very readable.
I felt the illustrations let the story down. There are some really nice ones, but most of them had a sameness about them

CREEPY CREEPY GRAVEYARD SHEEPY eBook Rev C Raven Bartholomew Reviews

Any book title with the word "Sheepy" in should be cute right? Wrong! This book breaks all the rules of cute with delightfully disgusting prose and gloriously gory cartoons. My audience of little ones roared their approval at the turn of every page. The only disappointment was that it finished. Come on Rev, give us more!
DISCLAIMER I received a free copy via an online review group in exchange for an honest review.

Well, where do I start. This picture book is crazy. It is everything I don't believe in and is so politically incorrect it is ridiculous. But it is funny. Crazy funny in a way that had me laughing out loud at almost every page. If the Reverend comes out with any more books I will happily buy them, read them, and review them.
Definitely morbid and funny - and it will appeal to young readers (I'm suggesting boys or girls with hard stomachs)... the illustrations are good and gross, the prose has a nice rhythmic sound - all over very different, and certainly has something I've not seen in other books!

This e-book was approximately 24 printed pages and sold for $1.00 at the time of writing this review.
This free book was delivered to me, accompanied by a note from the author, threatening to move to Canada if I didn't do a review ;)

The "Creepy Creepy Graveyard Sheepy's"
A book that's written to make you weepy

Filled with words about pus and gore
It's guaranteed you'll not be bored

But be forewarned it's unpleasant fare
To see sheep parts detached and bare.

And for those of you that read a lot
The general theme is one of rot.

For Shane the Sheepy is now well dead
Because of sheep dip found in his bed

Oh rest in peace my mutton-heady
May better words be left unsaidy.

Rev. C Raven Bartholomew is a new nom de plume for a very famous Australian Cartoon Artist – who wishes to remain anonymous for this newest book. But talent such as this is unmistakable and for those who have read GREEN SNOT AND BOOGERS and the ZAK THE ZOMBIE series etc the style is such that it won’t be much of a challenge for fans of this artist to guess his true identity

The good Reverend graces his pages once again in rhymes and terrific cartoon illustrations and meets us in a graveyard ‘where hearts decay’ and the home of ghouls and ghosts and of course Shane the Sheepy (whose nose is full of snot and boogers that are left to rot) – a regular mess of a disintegrating organ extruding sheep and ‘a tongue that tasted grass so green now looks more like a gangrenes spleen’. As a matter of fat we are treated to a description of each of his rotting organs and in doing so the good Reverend teaches us what happens when our bodies die.
This is a terrific little entertaining and hilarious book but it also has some biological teaching significance – even for adults who will likely attempt not to guffaw their way out of the bedroom while reading this creepy little bedtime story.

At the book’s end we are offered a biography of the Reverend – which as is this author’s style is utterly hilariously dark (‘An ordained minister he is legally allowed to marry you, but would rather bury you. Amen’). And as a teaser for the book PR, the following is offered ‘Then I saw his faeces. Now I’m a be-liver. Just kidneying. Bwahahaha!!’ Another howlingly original little book by one of the best in the business. Grady Harp, May 16
I am a religious person and if this book wasn't so funny I would be offended and disgusted by it. Dead bodies? Ugghh. Internal organs? Ugghh. But it's funny. Damn funny.
The rhyme in this book is spot on! Great job with that ) I think this book would be perfect for kids who want to enjoy something a little spooky without having bad dreams afterward! I would actually categorize this book as something that is more gross than scary, but it would still be fun to read during a Halloween party for kids 7-10 or so.
